About
I have had three non-fiction conservation books published, a collection of short fiction and my debut novel, Of Human Folly was published by Silver Quill Publishing. The novel is an exploration of one person’s response to the spiralling climate crisis and has been described… “as urgent as Silent Spring.” To purchase a limited edition and signed copy of the novel Of Human Folly, please contact me direct. Otherwise, it is available here. A second book, a collection of short fiction entitled Skylight was published earlier this year, and the latest novel is now finalised with Silver Quill and was published in summer 2025. Again, for limited edition and signed copies of The Tale of the Strayaway Child, please contact me direct.
Projects
I have been working towards the publication of a second full-length novel which follows the story of two migrants fleeing conflict in Syria. Fully aware of the potential pitfalls of such a subject, I had the text read by three different people, all bringing their expertise and understanding of the issues to the conversation. I approached the subject and narrative with the necessary respect and humility and I believe this is reflected in the text. It is entitled The Tale of the Strayaway Child and was recently published in summer 2025.
Additionally, never one to avoid a complicated subject, I’m also into the final edit of a novel about socio-economic inequality in 20/21st century Britain; doing the research for a non-fiction book about designing and building a low impact house in the Scottish Highlands; and planning a novella. Oh, and there’s also a new novel in the offing which looks at families dealing with multi-generational tensions, including dementia…and I might, at some point, rework some of my early short fiction towards a second collection. So…plenty to be getting on with.
